A Letter to Our Families

Jan 5, 2026 – Dr. Paul

Dear Parents,

I want to thank you for allowing me the privilege of caring for your children (and grandchildren!). I also am grateful for your loyalty and patience over the years. As we continue into our 38th year of practice and 18th year of our unique practice model (small solo medical office, modest annual family fee) I feel blessed to have a diverse blend of families. You seem to appreciate the kind of care we are trying to provide. The annual fee has allowed us to continue practicing pediatric medicine as I imagined I would early on in my training. It also allows me to maintain independence, free from ownership by a hospital chain or a large group that could potentially exert influence contrary to the care that you have come to expect.

Our practice model has allowed us to maintain our modus operandi, in particular the judicious scheduling of well visits. Although we are not a concierge practice, we are told that there is a “concierge feel” to how we operate. We appreciate being able to offer our community a unique pediatric office. We understand that you place value on a smaller, more personal medical practice for your children’s health care, one that offers 24/7 coverage, services like home and virtual visits, portal access, school, sports and camp forms, and books. If our fee represents an undue hardship for you, please speak to me privately about it. It is not meant to exclude.

On another note, we have now implemented EHR (electronic health records) and so prescriptions and patient portal access make medical care easier for everyone. Again, I very much appreciate your continued loyalty and trust.

Sincerely,

Doctor Paul
